In amphibious aircraft, you establish passenger-carrying currency in SEL,
MEL, SES, or MES depending on land or sea takeoffs and landings. These
instructions are for amphibious aircraft only, not for seaplanes.
Setup:
- From the
aircraft definition
screen, select Amphibian from the Land/Sea drop-down.
- Create
custom flight fields
of type Integer, named (exactly) Day Water Takeoffs,
Day Water Landings, Night Water Takeoffs, and
Night Water Landings.
Operation:
- When entering flights, enter total takeoffs and landings in the Times section
as usual. Then, enter any water takeoffs and landings in your new custom fields.
- Example: For a flight with 3 land takeoffs and 2 water takeoffs, enter
5 as your number of takeoffs in the Times section, and 2
in the Day Water Takeoffs custom field.
- Your currency calculations will automatically reflect your amphibious
activity.
- Use the
Flight Preferences
screen to configure how you want your amphibious time categorized.
- For pure seaplanes, none of this is necessary. All activity will count as
SES or MES.
